He was a graduate of Warren High; a World War II Coast Guard veteran; an employee of Arkla Gas Company, in Warren, for 33 years; and a member of Second Baptist Church, Monticello. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and RV camping enthusiast and was preceded in death by parents Oscar and Annie Bea Harding Sharp; Eileen Knight Sharp, wife and mother of son; wife Lorene Palmer Pierce; and brothers Richard Sharp, of Warren, and Lewis Sharp, of Perryton, TX.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie Russell Sharp, Monticello; son Wayne Sharp and wife Gloria, Jefferson City, MO; grandsons Brandon, Steamboat Springs, CO, and Darren, with wife Sonja and great-granddaughter Alma, Minneapolis, MN; sister Frances Sharp Curry, Austin, TX; sister-in-law Martha Sharp, Warren; and six step-children and several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
