Gladys Lawson Coffman, 90, of Mt. View, formerly of Monticello, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Stone County Nursing & Rehab in Mt. View. She was born October 4, 1921 in Monticello.

She was the widow of Clyde B. Coffman, a homemaker, U. S. Army Veteran of WW II and a Baptist. She was the daughter of the late John B. Lawson and Patsy Bennett Lawson and was preceded in death by two sons, Robert B. Hitchcock and Ben Larry Hitchcock and ten older brothers. She was a very loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include one son, Andrew L. Hitchcock and wife, Fay of Calico Rock, AR; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

    I was sad to hear of the loss of your loved one. Mama (Ms. Effie) & she had a lot of fun times together. Mama will be gone 10 years this August, doesn't seem possible. You all are in my thoughts & prayers.

    Andy, I know that you & Richard & Jerry played together when y'all were little, Richard passed away in Sept 09' & Jerry in Jan 01'.
