    Barry, Dane, Todd:
There are no words that can truly express the sadness that I feel. You told me at the funeral that Annette loved me...yes, she did. She showed me that time and time again. I loved her, too. When I cleaned house for you, she and I had some wonderful talks. You and Annette have helped me so much. What you have done for me will never be forgotten.
I guess the one thing that stands out in my mind is when Annette made sure that the boys and I had something nice to wear to Mama's funeral. I still have the dress she bought me to wear...in a way, I have something to remember Annette by.
One other thing...as I was reading the guest book one word jumped out at me time and time again...LADY. Annette was one of the most beautiful ladies I have ever met! She truly defined the word lady!
I am sending so much love to you...and I am sending so many prayers to God for you,

I am shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs. Hall. She was one of my advisors while a student at UAM and I credit her with helping me to get my college career off the ground. Without her, it would have been impossible for me to attend UAM. She was a woman of impeccable integrity, reputation, grace, and class. I can only imagine that heaven's choir will be all that much better with her in its chorus. God bless her and the Halls. Thank you, Mrs. Hall.

We were away on vacation and did not find out until Monday (August 10) and I am so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Hall was a GREAT lady!! She was my adviser during college and tried to keep me on track for my music degree. She was also my voice teacher while I attended UAM and saw me to my eventual Senior Recital. She was a super encourager and her door was ALWAYS open. I always enjoyed it when our paths would cross and we could catch up on everything. During the past several years, there were times that she would come with some of her students to observe my K-6 music classes at Drew Central--that was always a treat! She will be missed in a great way. May God comfort you as you face the times to come.
  15. Janice Hurd
Annette will be missed by all who knew her and especially the music world. My son had a great experience in music with her. We enjoyed her friendship.
  16. Jeff Parker

    Mr. Hall, Dane and Todd,

We are so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Hall was a great influence in our lives. She was truly a "lady" that loved her job and treated every student as one of her own children. Thank you for sharing your wife and mother with all of UAM music students.

We are praying for you all.

    Love,

    Jeff and Meleah

    Dear Mr. Hall and Sons,

I was very sorry to hear of Annette's death. She and I worked together to manage my neighbor, Mrs. Burchfield (Annette's aunt) who recently passed away. I know it was very hard for Annette to take time to do this because Mrs. Burchfield lived in Little Rock and Annette was fighting her own health battle at the time.

To sacrifice her precious time and energy and use it on the care of another at such a critical time in Annette's life, is the mark of a true Christian and a rare human being. Your family should be proud of having such a wonderful woman as a mother. You have my sympathy in your family's loss, but be conforted in that you have been blessed by spending years and sharing love with such a wonderful woman.
  20. Julia Lansford
My heartfelt sympathy and prayers to the family of
Annette Hall. I always enjoyed my time with her along
with Beverly Lobitz at NATS conventions. I also remember
her kindnesses when I performed a recital at the school
    in Monticello.
  21. Glenda Andrews
Mr. Hall, I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Hall's passing. She was truly a blessing to me. Gene enjoyed her Public School Music class so much and he often shared stories of his escapades in her class. I know that she and Gene are now sharing many more of those laughs. She sent me a card entitled "The Legacy of a Life Well Lived" and now I give the words back to you for they fit her so well.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
    In Christ's Love,
    Glenda Andrews

    Barry, Dane, Todd & Family

Annette was indeed the best friend, mentor, colleague and confidant that anyone could wish for in their life.

She was a strong influence in my life during years at UAM and has continued to be a great friend and colleague throughout the years.

I will miss the notes and cards from her and our telephone 'chats' we had several times a year.

Heaven's choir has a great mezzo-soprano, as well as a beautiful, kind lady that was the best role model any person could has wished for in their life.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

    Sincerely -
    Paul Terry
  23. Arthur Shearin
Annette was a dear friend who I got to see two or three times a year because of our music connections. As music chair at Harding, we shared 15 years together as NASM officers. In fact, Annette "engineered" my election as four-state region chair, an office that she held before me. Also, we shared many nice NATS moments together throughout the years. And occasionally she would stop by Searcy, where you, Barry, have kin.

Annettee was a wonderful person. I appreciated her deep and transparent faith in God. That made our bond extra special. She not only was a friend; she was a Christian friend. She and I were buddies in the truest and best sense. We always knew that we could count on each other, and we did.

Thank you, Annette, for being my friend. Thank you for sharing your life and your faith with me. I will miss you.

Best wishes to you, Barry, and the children and grandchildren in your loss.

    Sincerely,

    Arthur Shearin

Annette was my dear friend and a woman of faith. She stood in the face of the enemy and proclaimed her faith at all times. She was and is a woman of faith and
endured to the end. Annette spoke words of comfort to all around her using her many gifts from the Lord. I will always treasure her and will some day unite again with her in heaven. I speak peace and love to all her loved ones. Annette, I will always love you. I will miss you so much.
  27. Helen and Champ Hawkins

Since I met her is 1964, I have heard from her on "our" birthday every year, but 2010 will be different. I don't know why, maybe because we shared a birthday, but I always felt really close to Annette. We didn't see each other very much, but I always knew she was just a phone call away. May God grant her family peace that surpasses understanding. Peace that can only come from God.

    Love & Prayers,

    Linda

We were so saddened to hear of Annette's death. She was a colleague, but most of all, a dear friend. Over the years she and I spent many hours discussing matters of higher education. She was a capable and persistent advocate for music and especially for music education at UAM. As we mourn her death we also celebrate the contributions she made on this earth, both as a person and as a professional.

I am sure that by now she has organized at least a couple of new choirs in Heaven and is lining up several more!

    Dear Barry & family,

My deepest sympathies and blessings go out to you and your entire family. I have such fond memories of our time in Crossett together in those early years. You and Annette took me under your wings as we shared so many meals and good times together. Over the years I took great pride in both of your accomplishments and successes. I always looked forward to our meetings at All-State to catch up on the family. She did her share of bragging on all of you...especially those grandkids.

I know this is a hard time but we all have such great memories and joy in knowing her and her being a part of our lives. She was indeed...a "lady". May those memories and love she gave us all sustain you.

My love and God's Blessings to you all,

    Barry:

I share your grief at Annette's homegoing.

She was a special lady and I cherish the memories of her. Annette was a counselor at youth camp the first time I met her. After you married, and my family moved to southeast Arkansas, I enjoyed seeing you two at Sectional and District A/G functions.

Professionally, I enjoyed calling on her at UAM. I also looked forward to seeing her at the Choral Director's Workshop in August and the Arkansas All-State Music Convention each year.

May God be with you and your family during this time of sorrow. But, be assured, Annette is away for only a really short time and then we'll be with her again.
  59. Greg Tucker
To Mr. Barry, Dane and family, and Todd,

What a wonderful legacy of a love of God, music, education, and most of all, people, that has been left behind by Annette Hall. She was a grand lady on this earth and is now the same in Heaven.

She was and will continue to be an influence on the lives of all who knew her and especially those of us who were priviliged to be her students.

We profoundly regret that we will not be able to attend her homegoing celebration as we are out of state, but I'm sure the presence of the Lord will be great. And that's the way she would want it.

Blessings on you and your families. May His grace sustain you until you are reunited again in His presence.

How sad to hear that my dear "teenage" friend has passed. Annette and I spent much time together when we were young--summer youth camps, playing the piano together, singing in trios together (actually won a state championship!). She was always so much fun to be around. We lost contact after I moved to Calif., but then I had the chance to reconnect with her in 2003 when I visited Monticello. Annette showed me around the UAM campus--I was so proud of how far she had come from our early days. Barry, I pray for God's comfort for you and your family at this time.

We are so sad to hear of the passing of our dear friend, Annette. She was such a blessing and inspiration to all of us. I am especially thankful for her kindness and help when our son, Paul, transferred to UAM. I could never begin to express my appreciation for all she did to make it possible for him to attend UAM, and ultimately graduate with a vocal music degree. May God comfort you in this tremendous loss as only He can give you comfort.

As brothers and sisters in the world of music, it is very difficult to hear when one of our own passes on. My heartfelt sympathy is with the family and friends.

Only heaven knows the music that is being played , the angels singing and the joyful reunions theretoday in heaven. What a gift Mrs. Hall was to us all. As a person she stood tall and shined a light, as a musician and teacher, she brought such joy to so many for many years. Only heaven knows the music that is being played , the angels singing and the joyful reunions there today in heaven. What a wonderful friend and wonderful legacy she is leaving behind. Thank you Mrs. Halll for being a part of my life.
