He was a retired school teacher, having taught machine shop 28 plus years, at Little Rock Tech, Metropolian VoTech and Pulaski VoTech, and was also a licensed real estate agent. He graduated from Drew Central High School in 1948, served in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict, attended Oklahoma A & M before graduating from Arkansas A&M (now UAM) in 1958. He then attended graduate school at the University of Central Arkansas. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Little Rock, the Arkansas Bluegrass Association, the VFW Benton Post, the Albert Pike Masons of Little Rock and Eagles Aerie #60..
Survivors include his daughter, Susan Young and husband, Scott of Little Rock; one son, Kenneth Jones of Little Rock; one sister, Velma Jones of Monticello; one grandson, Austin Young of Little Rock.
