    Dear Joan,
I am so glad that I was able to see visit with you and Cecil this summer. My memories of him are of a smiling, kind man who let me go to the pond, even though it must have amused him when the cows scared me ( city girl that I was). I remember him on the tractor, which always impressed me :-) It is amazing that you and he went to such amazing places in your travels. I hope he and Daddy are swapping fishing stories as I am typing this. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Much love, Harriet McNeese Hardy

Please accept my deepest sympathy. I got to know Mr. Cecil after I bought the 1954 brown Chevrolet pickup he traded in. That was in 1970. He told me he probably shouldn't have gotten rid of it. I would have to agree because it was in very good condition. I was in my last year of college and working as an inspector for Herman Wilson Lumber Company. I drove that truck all over Drew, Ashley, and Bradley Counties inspecting correct log lengths behind their logging crews. If a 16 foot log was cut a fraction of an inch
shorter than 16 feet, the mill could only make 14 foot lumber from it. You'd be amazed at what crews would send to the mill.
  16. Don and Jo Ann L. West
Cecil was one of the finest men I've ever known. I will
never forget working with the both of you in Virginia and North Carolina in the early 50's. Those were wonderful times. Joann, I cherish all the memories
    of you and Cecil.
    Love,
    Don

We are sorry about Mr. Cecil but know he is in a better place. I remember the many times Mr. Ceicil would sit at Walmart with me and relate some of his travels and life experiences-especially as a young man cutting timber with a crosscut saw, on Big Island and his camp life. Mr. Cecil served in the Aleutian Islands with my brother, Kenneth Fuller, in WW2. Every time Kenneth and his wife, Joy, came to see me, they would ask about Mr. Cecil, and JoAnn. Your Family has been blessed by Mr. Cecil, and I shall miss him too.
  41. Bobby & Kay McGehee
Our thoughts, love, and prayers are with you all at this time. We loved Cecil's honesty and humor about life and people in all situations. He managed to give us all a smile, and a little something extra maybe to think about. We are here for you all... Love you, Bobby and Kay
