Arcola Roberson Cater Todd, 84, of Monticello, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. She was born February 3, 1928.

She was the widow of Cecil Todd, a homemaker and a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Riley Roberson and Willie Bell Kellum Roberson and was preceded in death by her first husband, J. D. Cater, Sr. and three sisters, Jessie Mae Dodson, Clara Mae Cater and Frances Davis.

Survivors include four sons, Ronny Cater and wife, Karen, J. D. Cater, Jr. and wife, Tammy, Jackie Dale Cater and William Cater and wife, Janice, all of Monticello; seven daughters, Betty McDaniel and husband, Bobby, Patricia Lane, Lola Brown, Polly Hayden and husband, George, Willie Briney and husband, Jimmy, Retha Cash and husband, Rodney, all of Monticello and Mary Richardson and husband, Daniel of Lake Cormorant, MS; two sisters, Catherine Gray of Philadelphia, MS and Pauline Weast of Star City; twenty eight grandchildren, fifty two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

    My heart is breaking for Mrs. Arcolas family today.She was such a sweet lady. She was my Mother in law for 23 years. I saw her 2 weeks. Ago at Belveiw her memories of our years together were gone, but I told herit was Ok that she couldn't remember because I remembered. She loved her chidren so much. She was a wonderful cook and loved to cook for her family. I bet. Cecil is getting her to cook him up some fried Chicken already . RIP
