Johnny Keith Ashcraft, 78, of Little Rock, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the V A Hospital in Little Rock. He was born July 24, 1933 in Rye, AR.

He was a retired meat cutter for Kroger, U. S. Army Veteran of Korea and of Presbyterian faith. He was the son of the late Hugh B. Ashcraft and Bula Mercer Ashcraft and was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Joe and Leon Ashcraft and three sisters, Cleda Engel, Mary Ashcraft and Louise Gates.

Survivors include one brother, Wayne Ashcraft of Little Rock; four nephews, Jimmy Gates of Memphis, Joe Albert of Benton, Mark Engel of Evansville, IN and Robert Engel of San Antonio, TX; seven nieces, Julie Engel of Houston, TX, Janice Engel and Susan Engel, both of San Antonio, TX, Ann Engel of Texas, Barbara Engel of San Antonio, TX, Lennette Ashcraft of Benton and Leigh Ann Ashcraft of Baton Rouge, LA; a very special friend, Sandy Foxworth of Little Rock.

    My condolences and prayers go out to the family of Mr. Johnny. He was a kind and giving man. He lived across the street from where I work and I have visited with him on several occasions and he was always pleasant and kind. He will be missed in the neighborhood. It will not be the same without him.
