He was a retired truck driver for L. D. Long, a U. S. Army Veteran of Vietnam and was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church. He was the son of the late Anthony Ridgell and Bertha Henley Ridgell.
Survivors include one son, Kevin Ridgell and wife Lisa, of Monticello; three daughters, Kathy Jordan of Monticello, Debri Blanks of Durham, NC and LaSonya Nolen and husband, Mitch ,of Fort Worth, TX; two brothers, Lewis Ridgell and wife, Marion of Chesapeake, VA and Author Ridgell and wife, Velma ,of Pine Bluff, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
