He worked as the manager of Puryear Wood Products in Dumas, Oaklawn Foods in Crossett and Berry's Packing in Crossett. Stanley was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army on September 30, 1966 due to a wreck on an Army base in Germany. He was a member of Cloverdale Assembly of God Church in Crossett. He was the son of the late Stanley William Burton and Dollie Fern Wright Burton and was preceded in death by two brothers, James Stanley Burton and William O. Burton. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Fredia Harris Burton of Crossett; three sons, Mark Burton and wife, Lorna of Searcy, Steve Burton and wife, Kelley and Tony Burton, both of Monticello; two daughters, Crystal Hogue and husband, Mark and Marla McCandless both of Crossett; one brother, Romagene Burton and wife, Inez of Monticello; two sisters, Margaret Jordan and husband, James of Camden and Joy Dell Akin Harris and husband, B. K. of Hamburg; fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. His favorite past time was rocking his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
