Sister Barbara Ann Hicks was born on September 13, 1956 to the late Leslie James Hicks, Jr. (L.J.) and Eula V. Fletcher Hicks. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, her father and her grandparents; Dell B. Fletcher, George Davis, Mabel Wiley and Leslie Hicks, Sr.

She was baptized under the leadership of the Rev. T. S. Skipper and became a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member until her health began to fail. She was the Youth Sunday School teacher and a choir member.

She attended Drew Central School from 1st grade thru the 9th grade and went to Monticello Schools where she graduated in 1974. She attended University of Monticello for 2 ½ years where she majored in business education. She worked at Burlington Industrial Plant for over 19 years until her health began to fail and then she retired.

Barbara was a friend to everyone she met and could always keep you smiling no matter how down you were. You couldn't help but love her.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Eula V. Fletcher Hicks; one sister, Vanessa Lewis Daniels (Tommy); two aunts, Hattie Mae Maxwell, Merlene Hicks; four uncles, Dennis Batts (Judy), Eddie Davis, L.C. Hicks (Irene) and Willie Hicks; one nephew and two nieces, and many cousins and friends.
