On December 2, 2012, our beloved sister, Dorothy Ann Horton, 59, was called from this earthly home to her eternal home with the Lord Jesus Christ.

She was born on June 22, 1953 in McGehee, Arkansas to Lueretta Horton and the late Tommy Lee Horton, Sr. She was the seventh child of twelve children. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Pilgrim Rest AME Church in Monticello, Arkansas.

In 2006, she became affiliated with Faith Base Cathedral Church in Houston, Texas under the leadership of Founding Pastor, Prophet Talmadge Sharpe, Jr. Dorothy was the 1st Charter Member of Faith Base Cathedral. She truly loved God with all of her heart and was faithful in serving God and strived to carry out his purpose for her life in trying to evangelize and lead others to Christ. She remained a dutiful servant to the Lord until he took her home to be with him.

She was a hard worker both in and out of the church, always exemplifying a spirit of excellence. She was truly a faithful, gifted, powerful, and anointed prayer warrior who knew how to reach heaven. She had an amazing heart of compassion for souls and for those less fortunate. While serving at Faith Base Cathedral, Dorothy was in charge of the Recruiting (Evangelism) Ministry. She loved to go to the Food Pantry every month so that she could provide food to the homeless. Dorothy was a friend to everyone she met and could always keep you smiling no matter how down you were. You couldn't help but love her.

Dorothy loved her family with all her heart and she loved anything that was family oriented. Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Lee Horton, Sr. and one brother, Elder Lovell Horton.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her mother, Mrs. Lueretta Horton, McGehee, AR., one child: Eganiel Ezell, Houston, TX; ten siblings: Jimmy Frazier Horton, Omaha, NE., Georgia A. Mitchell (Horton), Council Bluff, IA,; Dr. David Lee (Louise) Williams, Jr., Homestead, Fl.; Vera Dean Robinson, Dumas, AR., Laura (King) Hampton, Ann Owens, and Tommy Lee Horton- McGehee, AR., Geraldine (J.L.)
