Jewel Binns, Sr., 69 departed this life on October 30, 2013 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on February 4, 1944 in Monticello, Arkansas to the late Samuel and Charlie Vern Binns.

Jewel grew up in Monticello and completed school at Drew High. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Holmes Chapel Presbyterian Church. He was united in holy matrimony to Pearline Ridgell. During this union they adopted one son and had one biological son.

Jewel lived in Gary, Indiana for over 40 years. He was employed at LTV Steel for 30 years as an administrative supervisor. For many years he searched for love and after returning home in 2000, he found it. On August 30,2003, he was united in holy matrimony to Brenda Ollison Binns. They had ten wonderful years together. He later became a member of Shady Grove AME Church. Jewel loved to travel and was the Master Chef for his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Binns and Calvin Binns; two sisters, Shirley Binns Haymon and Flossie Binns Wells.

Jewel Binns, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Brenda Binns, two sons, Jewel Binns, Jr.(Tasha ) of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; Frederick Binns(Bertha) of Monticello; one sister, Bobbie Dunlap(Louis); one brother, Samuel Binns Jr. (Veronica) of Gary, Indiana; one sister-in-law, Viola Binns; two grandsons, Alexander Binns and Jewel Alexander Binns of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; two step-daughters, Latrina Ollison of Little Rock, Arkansas; Latasha Hutson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three step-grandsons, Treveian Jackson and Zaybrien Jackson of Monticello Arkansas; Jaden Davis of Sherwood Arkansas, and a host of relatives whom he loved dearly the Binns, King, Ollison and Deshazer families.
