Calvin Dallas Gardner was born June 11, 1959 to Winston and Helen Gardner in Monticello, AR. He was the oldest child of six siblings. Calvin departed this earthly life on January 31, 2014. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Gardner and his step-son, Johnathan Avery.

Calvin graduated from Wilmar High School in 1978. He accepted Christ at an early age under Pastor Reather Phillips, Sr. He was employed with Burlington Industry for twenty plus years. He met and married Rosalyn Avery. To this union they were blessed with three children; one daughter, Brenda Gardner of Monticello; a son, Talven Gardner of Monticello and a step-son, Johnathan Avery who preceded him in death. He worked many years gardening and was known for his "green thumb". He will be truly missed.

Calvin leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Rosalyn Avery Gardner, daughter, Brenda Gardner, son, Talven Gardner; one grandson, Traven Gardner, two granddaughters, Trinity and Marshall Gardner; father, Winston Gardner of Pine Bluff; three brothers, Terry (Cheryl) Gardner, Namon Gardner both of Wilmar, Michael Gardner of Mississippi; two sisters, Mahavis (Keith) Fletcher of Pine Bluff and Rozene Ederington of Warren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
