She attended Drew High School. In 1956, she married Leslie James Hicks and to this union two children were born. They proceeded her in death.
She accepted Christ at a very early age under the leadership of the Rev. W.H. King at the Morning Star Baptist Church. She was a choir member as well as other duties. She later became an usher where she remained until her health began to fail. She was a very active member for over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Davis and Dell Fletcher, her children, Barbara Hicks and Leslie James, Jr., three brothers, J.D., Nolen and Roscoe Davis, and two sisters, Robbie Lee Davis and Sarah Francis Fletcher.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one step-daughter, Vanessa (Tommy) Daniels of Monticello, AR; one brother, Dennis (Julie) Batts of New Holsteine, WS; one sister, Hattie Mae Davis of Baltimore, MD; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
