Mr. Watson was a retired Union Pacific Railroad Engineer with 44 years of service and was local chairman for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers before his retirement. He has been a member of the Selma United Methodist Church since childhood, loved fishing, hunting and gardening and was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan. He was also a gifted high school athlete where he excelled in basketball. John Doyle was very dedicated to his wife and children.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Dorris Groom Watson of Selma; one son, John D. Watson, II and wife, Kerri of North Little Rock; one daughter, Kim Watson of Little Rock; one brother, Paul Watson and wife, Wanda of Selma; three grandsons, Philip Mann of Selma, Will Watson and Webb Watson both of North Little Rock; a granddaughter, Sarah Grace Watson of North Little Rock; a great-grandson, Blake Mann of Crossett; a great-granddaughter, Allison Mann of North Little Rock; one niece, Dr. Paula Watson of Nashville, TN; one nephew, Kenny Watson and wife, Annette of Selma; and many other relatives and friends.
