Welcome

Bobbie Swift
November 14, 1919 - December 1, 2009

Bobbie D. Davis Swift was born November 14, 1919, in Relf's Bluff, AR (Lincoln County) to the late Louie and Mary Catherine Davis. She departed this earth December 1, 2009, at the blessed age of 90 years of age. She was preceded in death by husbands, Johnnie Lee Harris and Charley Swift; a daughter, Loya Janice Jefferson; a son, Jessie Lee Harris; and a grandson, Ramos Tucker.

After the passing of her father, Louie Davis, her mother remarried O.C. Barker. O.C. and Mary Catherine Barker, along with her grandparents, Otha and Josephine Gragg raised her to love and respect God and serve Him with an open heart. She continued to do this until the day she died. She professed her belief in Christ at an early age and united with Ebenezer A.M.E. Church. Later she joined Pilgrim's Rest A.M.E Church. She ended her life as a member of Holmes Chapel Presbyterian Church in Monticello, AR.

She married Johnnie Lee Harris in 1935. To this union three children were bore: Loya Janice (Lindberg Jefferson), Betty Jo (Laron Tucker), and Jessie Lee Harris. Although Jessie Lee died at a young age, her surviving children went on to marry and give her 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She worked as a cook and eventually owned her own cafe. She was and always will be loved by the many family and friends that she leaves behind.

We, her family, hope to continue her legacy of sincerity, charity and love for as long as we and our offspring are on this Earth.
