Ronald E. Sutherland, 82, of Monticello, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Drew Memorial Hospital. He was born February 4, 1927 in Allegan, Michigan.

He was retired from James Rivers Corp. Paper Mill and was a Baptist. He was the son of the late Embly Sutherland and Katheine L. Mills Sutherland and was preceded in death by his first wife, Geneva Temple Sutherland and one son, Lonney G. Sutherland.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Beaty Sutherland; one daughter, Julie Grogg and husband, Charles of Monticello; four grandchildren, Michael Sutherland, Annette Sutherland, Christina Grogg and Chris Sutherland.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
