Pauline Lesley Tucker
December 19, 1930 - January 17, 2017

Pauline Lesley Tucker of the Sardis community, Hart County, GA, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the age of 86. Mrs. Tucker was born December 19, 1930 in Morganton, Arkansas, grew up in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, and graduated from East Central State College in Ada, Oklahoma. While teaching school in California she met Walter Carter Tucker. Tuck and Pauline married July 24, 1954 and enjoyed 62 years of marriage and ministry together. As a military wife, Pauline packed up and moved her family countless times, always with a positive can-do spirit. Between their military travels, volunteer mission trips, and hosting over two dozen tours to Bible lands, Pauline and Tuck traveled to more than thirty foreign countries, making friends and memories along the way. Pauline was fun, caring, intelligent, gracious, loving, and a fantastic hostess and cook. She was a sought-after Bible teacher and missions speaker because her extraordinary love for the Lord and knowledge of the Bible was unparalleled. Countless people have benefitted from her quiet wisdom expressed in her teaching, notes of encouragement, and, most of all, her life of joyful integrity devoted to serving God.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Bertha Lesley, and her seven siblings. She is survived by her husband, Carter Tucker of Hart County, Georgia, her son Paul and daughter-in-law Emily Tucker and their three sons Carter, Amanda, and great-grandson Brooks Tucker, John and Haleigh Tucker, and David Tucker; daughter Lesley and son-in-law Richard Brunson and their three children Meredith and Carmi Palicte, Nathan Brunson, and Taylor Brunson; and daughter Amy and son-in-law Stephen Summers and their three children Aaron Summers, Rachel and John Bennett, and Philip Summers. “Grandmother” adored all her grandchildren and they admired and adored her, as did everyone else who was fortunate to know Pauline. She was truly a wonderful lady.

Visitation for Mrs. Tucker will be Friday, January 20 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Hartwell Ga, where she was an active member and servant. A memorial service celebrating her devoted life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21 at Hartwell FBC.

Interment will be held Monday, January 23 at noon at Pleasant Springs Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Pleasant Springs cemetery in Monticello, Arkansas. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to either the Hartwell First Baptist Church overseas missions trip fund, 81 East Howel St., Harwell, Georgia, 30643, or the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions, P O Box 6767, Richmond, VA 23230.
