Paul Edwin Moore
May 5, 1929 - March 10, 2010

Paul Edwin Moore, age 80, of the Mt. Tabor community, passed away at his home on March 10, 2010. He was born May 5, 1929 in Drew County to the late John C. and Elizabeth “Lizzy” Moore. Mr. Moore graduated from Tillar High School and attended Arkansas A&M College, now known as UAM. He was a fourth generation farmer in Drew County and Co-Owner of Moore Brother’s Farm.

Mr. Moore was a Veteran of the Korean War and bravely defended our country in overseas battles. Upon returning from war, he came home to help his father on the family farm. In 1954, he and his brother established Moore Brother’s Farm which has always been solely run by him, his brother, his father, sons and nephews.

He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. He was President of and long time board member of both Drew Farm Supply Co-Op and Farm Bureau. He also served numerous years on the Drew County Fair Board and the Drew County School Board, which oversaw the operations of all Drew County Schools that were in operation at the time. He was also a member of the Drew County Cattlemen’s Association and life long member of Mt. Tabor Methodist Church.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Sallie Jo Roberts Moore.

He is survived by two sons, Edwin and wife Amy, of Iuka, MS, and Robert and wife Carol, of the Mt. Tabor community; one brother, Billy John Moore of the Mt. Tabor community; daughter in law, Debora Morales of Dermott; grandchildren, Corey and Cecilia Moore of Elkin, NC, Gregory Moore of Iuka, MS, Stephen Cockrell and family, Jamie Hays and husband of the Mt. Tabor community, Angie Burton and family of Monticello, Farrah Otoole and family of Iuka, MS and Amanda and Kellie Moore of the Mt. Tabor community; great grandchildren, Ayden Cockerham of Elkin, NC, Josh and Katelynn Guinn of Iuka, MS and a host of family, loved ones and friends.
