Tanya Yvonne Thompson was born July 20, 1963 to Verlee M. Toatley and Lamar Simmons in Monticello, AR. She attended Drew High School then moved to Monticello High School where she met and married Vincent Dewayne Thompson on February 27, 1982. Tanya was employed with Drew Memorial Hospital Home Health and covered many areas throughout Southeast Arkansas.
Tanya started her Christian walk early in life. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant/Campground under the leadership of Rev. Jesse Washington and later moved her membership to Trinity Full Gospel Ministries under the leadership of Overseer Lorenza Simmons and later Pastor Ronald Forte’ Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Louis, Benjamin, and Micah Lee, and one sister Shirby Jean.
Tanya leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Vincent D. Thompson of Monticello, AR.; one son, Marcus (Michelle) Junior of Bastrop, LA; son/grandson, LaMarcus Junior of the home; two grandsons, Antonio Jones and DeMarcus Junior of Bastrop, LA; one granddaughter, Shavrion Ollison of Monticello, AR; a step-mother, Mary Lattimore Simmons of McGehee, AR; five brothers, Overseer Lorenza (Ola), Mark (Jacqueline), Steven (Valarie), Tony Simmons all of Monticello, AR and Jerry (Aerlean) Binns of Milwaukee, WI; three sisters, Maryland (Hosea) Robertson, Pamela Simmons, both of Monticello, AR, and Shasta (Kevin) White of Dumas, AR; an uncle Eddie Lee (Tommie L.)Toatley of Detroit, MI; an aunt, Mildred O’Neal of St. Louis, MO; a mother-in-law, Shirley (A.C.) Griffin of Monticello, AR; a brother-in-law, Elvin (Paula) Ingram of Monticello, AR; a sister-in-law, Margaret Simmons of Monticello, AR; five step brothers, James, Napolean, Willie (Shirley) Lattimore of St. Louis, MO, Sidney Lattimore of Dermott, AR, Alvin (Rose) Lattimore of McGehee, AR, a step-sister, Mary J .Lattimore of McGehee, AR; two special nieces, Carolyn and Chuntina, a special great niece, Jadeci and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
