Charlotte Louise Sloan Majors Files, age 79 of Monticello, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, AR. She was born May, 18, 1939 in Knoxville, TN to the late Commadore Edward Sloan and Effie Lee Stone Sloan.
She was a retired Administrative Assistant for the president of First National Bank of McGehee and was a member of Second Baptist Church. She grew up in the Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Home in Monticello where she had many, many brothers and sisters by choice.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son Billy Stephen "Mr. Bill" Majors; her husband Wayne Files; three brothers, Ed Sloan, Albert Sloan and Dennis "Pete" Sloan; and one sister, Nina Jean Livingston.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Majors and wife Donna of Alton, IL and Christopher Majors of Monticello; one daughter, Renee' Grizzle of White Hall; the father of her children, Billy Majors of Monticello; one sister, Faye Stewart and husband Raymond of Arkadelphia; three grandchildren, Traci Grizzle, Tara Majors and Britni Ellis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Albrecht officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time Friday. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
