Winburn Carter Tucker of the Coleman Community in Monticello, AR went to be with his Lord on May 11, 2019. He was born October 15, 1932 in Monticello, AR to the late R.J. and Margie Carter Tucker.
W.C. was a member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello and a Veteran of the Korean War, serving from January 1953 to September 1954. He then became a member of the Army reserve until he was discharged in February of 1961. He was awarded several medals for his service. Mr. Tucker traveled with the pipeline for a few years, then settled in the Enon community to farm. He was employed at Burlington Industries for a number of years and then MonArk Boat Company as a welder until his retirement. Winburn loved going to church and traveling around to hear different gospel groups sing. He loved spending time at his family home in Coleman with family and friends, especially during deer hunting season. He never met a stranger and was always make someone laugh at his antics. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Tucker, and two step-daughters, Kathy Hawkins and Barbara Copeland all of Monticello.
Survivors include two daughters, Trudy (Alan) Carrington of Rowlett, TX and Stacy (Jeff) Smith of Bauxite, AR; one son, Jeff Tucker of Monticello; three grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry (Rose) Tucker and Olin Tucker both of Coleman and Edward (Carolyn) Tucker of Pine Bluff; one sister, Kitty Wiscaver (Billy) of Smackover; a wife, Mary Tucker of Monticello; two step-daughters, Robin Massetti (Joe) of Waterbury, CT and Deborah (Bill) Bennett of Monticello; one step-son, Jerry Majors (Michelle) of Monticello; eighteen step-grandchildren, twenty step-great-grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Pleasant Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
