Jerry Dewayne Penick, age 74 of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at his home. He was born October 14, 1945 in Monticello, AR to the late Harold Penick and Ethel Inez Jeffers Brantley.

He was a retired salvage dealer and was of the Baptist faith. Jerry was a very jolly man with many friends. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, wheeling and dealing, and loved going to the casino. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Amber Penick; and two brothers, Harold Clyde Penick and Billy Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Lawanda Cater Penick of Monticello; one son, Jerry Lee Penick and wife Kelly of Austin, TX; one daughter, Penny Williams and husband Kelvin of Monticello; five grandchildren, Christopher, Anthony, Jerrick, Martavious and Alexis; one great-grandchild, Charli; two sisters, Ruthie Scroggins of Bastrop, LA and Shirley McClure and husband Dewey of Smackover; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
