Roy F. Cabaniss, age 67 of Monticello, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock. He was born January 2, 1953, in Oklahoma City, OK to the late Harley Cabaniss and Nyta Tharpe Cabaniss.

He held a PHD in Marketing from Oklahoma State University and was a marketing and business professor at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Roy was a United States Army Vietnam Era Veteran where he was an E6. He enjoyed working with his hands and loved teaching his students to learn for themselves but his greatest joy in life was seeing his children excel.

Survivors include his wife, Candi Peterson Cabaniss of Monticello; three daughters, Amber Cabaniss and Rhiannon Cabaniss both of Monticello, and Elizabeth Cabaniss of Colorado; one son, Dr. Roy Alan Cabaniss and wife Kara of Springfield, NJ; two grandchildren, Solomon and David; and one sister, Beverly Smith of Oklahoma.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kavan Dodson officiating. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
