Geraldine Dupree

Geraldine Dupree, 75, of Dermott, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Dermott City Nursing Home in Dermott. She was born August 27, 1934 in Marks, MS to the late Gallean Mirah Madin and James Hardie.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and homemaker. She was married to the late Joe Thomas until his death and later united in holy matrimony to Clarence Dupree in 1992 and served as a faithful member/mother of Greenland Baptist Church in New Edinburg, AR for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence Dupree, one brother, James Hardie and two daughters, Dollie Mae Thomas and Martha Jean Thomas-Crain.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two sons, Joe (Annie) Thomas and James Thomas, all of Dermott; two daughters, Mildred Thomas of Monticello and Willie Mae Thomas of Milwaukee, WI; one brother, Peter Hardie of Landover, MD; one sister, Marie Sandifer of Greenwood, MS; one step-daughter, Lisa (Authur) Sledge of Fordyce; three brothers-in-law, Wilbert Lee Dupree of Little Rock, Ray Charles (Elise) Dupree of Milwaukee, WI and Robert (Beverly) Dupree of Warren; three sisters-in-law, Fannie Jean Johnson of Little Rock, Fay (Floyd) Leaks and Clara (Billy) Morgan, all of New Edinburg; eleven grandchildren, Dana Davis, Joey Veasey, Sabrina Welch, Rachel Talley, Kimberly Jefferson, Ingrid Watson, Mendy Thomas, McKenzie Martin, Randy Williams, Tameka Williams, Drew Thomas and Jarius Thomas; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; a devoted life-long friend, Onnie Lee Daniels of Lacey, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
