Sema'J Marshall, 17 of Monticello, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2020. He was born June 20, 2003, in Monticello, AR, to Nayrada Marshall and Eric Brown. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rose Nealon and Harrison Marshall, Sr. and paternal grandfather, Edwin Brown, Sr.
Sema'J was a member of Holmes Chapel Church where he sang in the choir. He attended school at Monticello Middle School and Bryant High School. He was an employee of Hardy's in Benton, AR. There to guide him and be a positive influence in his life was Shiloh Gober and Ryan Williams. Sema'J was always the life of the party making sure everyone laughed and had a good time.
He is survived by his mother, Nayrada Marshall of Benton, AR; his father, Eric Brown of Monticello; paternal grandmother, Delores Brown of Carlsbad, NM; three brothers, Saniyaas Brown of Little Rock, Damion Collins of Benton, and Eric Brown of Little Rock; one sister, E'lisia Brown of Monticello, AR; best friend Antwain Boddie, Jr. of Alexander; three uncles, Harrison Marshall, Jr. (Sharell) of North Little Rock, Edwin Brown, Jr. of Carlsbad, NM and Larry Jones, Jr. of Benton; four aunts, Shemika Marshall-Brown ( Edward) and Alicia Marshall, both of Monticello, Brandi Brown and Megan Brown, both of Greensburg, LA; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
A walk-through viewing following COVID-19 guidelines, will be Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.. The Celebration of His Life will be Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Campground Cemetery. Sign our online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
