Terry Shelby Farmer, age 73 of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at his home in Monticello. He was born November 7, 1946, in Monticello, AR to the late Bob Shelby Farmer and Dora Mae Beckham Farmer.
He owned and operated Farmer's Plumbing & Heating, LLC. Terry also established the Southeast Arkansas Plumbing Apprenticeship School and was involved with the construction of the Drew County Freedom Flag located at Walgreens. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Annett Forrest, Bobbe Lujan and Jim Townsend.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jessie Farmer of Monticello; one daughter, Tonya Farmer; two step children, Doug LaGrone of Riverside, TX and Ruby Dunbar and husband Robert of Bonnerdale; three grandchildren, Chris LaGrone, Cody Chisom and Stephanie Harris; five great granddaughters; three special children, Tammie Avery, James Lawson and Melina Bull; one niece, Jeanette Thompson and husband David; and four nephews, Scott and Steven Forrest, and Shawn and Brian Lujan. Terry is also survived by his pets, Annie, Spot and Teddy whom he loved dearly and stayed by his side.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Oakland Cemetery in Monticello with Rev. Mike Glover officiating. A viewing following COVID-19 guidelines will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
