Lamar William Butler, age 79 of Monticello, passed away Friday, October 9, 2020, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born May 7, 1941, in Monticello, AR to the late Clarence Butler and Clara Brown Butler Higgason.
He was a retired Civil Service Aircraft Section Chief at McClellan Air Force Base in North Highlands, CA, a Mason, United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, an avid Razorback fan and member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Lamar's hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing the guitar and singing. He also enjoyed making positive daily posts on Facebook but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Jane L. Butler, two brothers, Edward Eugene Butler and Mack Robert Butler; and one granddaughter.
Survivors include one son, Karl Butler and wife Joanna of Monticello; two daughters, Tina Jaynes and husband Phil of Roseville, CA and Diana Glennon and husband Rusty of Wilmar; one brother, Lewis Butler of Arizona; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2020, in the Valley Cemetery with Rev. David Jacks officiating. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
