Emery Louis Maxwell, age 95 of Monticello, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020, at Unity Health Systems in Searcy, Arkansas. He was born August 1, 1925, in Crossett, AR to the late Emery and Sara Ann Flemings Maxwell.
Louis was known as the "Bread Man" for many years in the area while working for Colonial Baking Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he formerly served as a Deacon. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Vonnie "Honey" Burchfield Maxwell; granddaughter, Allison Edney, and a son-in-law, Ronnie Edney. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of The Eastern Star.
He is survived by his two daughters, Margaret Edney of Crossett and Betty McFarland and husband Ronnie of Searcy; grandchildren, Jim Edney and wife Carla of Crossett, Wayne Edney and wife Cathy of Hamburg, and Bart McFarland and wife Ejaye of Searcy; his great-grandchildren, Ryan Edney, Kaycee Rains, Brittany Procell, Carmela McFarland and Emery McFarland.
Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2020, in Oakland Cemetery. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com. The family would like to issue a special thank you to the staff of Grand Manor and The Guest House for the love and care they gave to Mr. Louis.
