Ronald Ralph Heavner, age 69 of Monticello, AR, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, Arkansas. He was born June 3, 1951, to the late Ralph Edward and Barbara Disbrow Heavner. He was retired from AM General Hummer plant in Mishawaka, IN, before moving to Monticello with his wife of forty-six years, Kathryn Heavner.
His hobbies included fishing, bowling, camping, and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Ladelle Baptist Church and the Monticello Post of the VFW. He was a graduate of Penn High School in Mishawaka, IN and a veteran of the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Jackie Lee Heavner.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Kimberly DeRoeck and husband Robert, Bobbie Jo Detwiler, and Melinda Harris and husband Michael all of Monticello; three grandchildren Joshua Holland of Hot Springs, Madelynn and Nathan DeRoeck of Monticello; a sister, Sharon Lee and husband James of Monticello; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 9, 2020, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Ladelle Baptist Church, Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church and burial will follow in Ladelle Cemetery with Military Honors. Please be sure to sign the online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
