Clara Cooper passed away at The Woods of Monticello Health and Rehabilitation Center on Dec 13, 2020, at the age of 86. Clara was predeceased by her husband Harold Wayne Cooper, her parents Alberto & Helen Hastings, and one sister Emily Lichtenfeld of Hamburg, Germany. Clara is lovingly remembered by her brother Alberto Hastings of Mexico City, Son Ben & Jackie Cooper of Platte City Missouri, Son David & Kim Cooper of Monticello and Grandchildren, Terrah Pena of Bryant AR, Sarah Martin of Monticello AR, Briana Morgan of Monticello AR, Six Great Children and numerous nieces and nephews. Clara was born in Mexico City, Mexico on Oct 5, 1934. After graduation, she was employed as a Flight Attendant with Mexicana Airlines and then traveled to the United States to pursue a career in professional water ballet. After choosing to attend Harding University, she met her husband Wayne. After they were married in June 1959, they spent time in Abilene Texas where their sons were born. The next several years they moved to El Paso and Dallas Texas, Chicago IL, West Memphis AR before finally settling down in Monticello in 1971. Clara especially enjoyed time with her family being a member of the Monticello Church of Christ. While in Monticello she was employed by UAM as an administrative assistant for the Nursing and Fine Arts Departments. She had been actively involved with the Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect organization and she enjoyed many years providing happiness to the customers of Coopers Jewelers and being able to help in the community when able. In lieu of viewing and funeral service, a Memorial service will be held at Stephenson Dearman Funeral home in Monticello AR on Saturday, January 9, 2021.
