Rebecca Woods Socia, age 48 of Monticello, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 in Monticello, AR. She was born November 10, 1972, in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Linda Moore Woods Kemp and Richard Woods. She was the principal at Central Elementary in Dumas. Rebecca was beautiful inside and out with an infectious smile. She loved the Lord and to sing for the Lord and listen to her podcasts. She took care of everyone and kept the family groups connected. She was a strong lady who gave 110% to make sure her kids were educated and put a lot aside to do the work necessary to make that happen. She was selfless in every way.
Rebecca is survived by her husband of 29 years, James Curtis "Curt" Socia; her daughter Jordan Socia Nolan and her husband Adam; her father, Richard Woods; her mother Linda Kemp and husband Gene Kemp; her brothers, Tommy Woods, Aaron Woods, Forrest Woods, and Richard Woods; her mother-in-law Cherry Socia Cotham; nieces, Ariana Eubanks, and Haley Woods; nephew, Kade Andrews, sister-in-law, Alison Andrews and husband Jody; aunt and uncles, Sandra and Steve Allsup, Joe and Peggy Moore, Wanda Davis, Millard Heath, Paul and Judy Kemp, Tommy and Carolyn Kemp, and Marcia Cranfield; her fur baby Ellie; and a host of cousins and friends.
A visitation will be Tuesday, January 12, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Stephenson-Dearman Chapel. Covid-19 guidelines will be enforced. Graveside services will be Wednesday, January 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Ladelle Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Rebecca Socia Scholarship fund at UAM.
