Preston Lewis was born December 31, 1955, in Arkansas City, AR to the late Richard Baker and Meryl Lewis. He was raised by Rachel and Mayhem Lewis. He departed his life May 13, 2021, in Elgin, IL with his brother and sister-in-law by his side. Preston was a member of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He attended J.B. Pain High School. Preston worked at Drew Memorial Hospital and Jefferson Regional Medical Center for several years. Preston leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 17 years, Shirley Lewis; two daughters, Laquita Lewis of Little Rock, AR and Miranda Jackson of Stuttgart, AR; three stepdaughters, ZaMarian Freeman, TaNira Lamb and Michonda “Punkin” Lamb of Clarksville, TN; 11 grandchildren, Malayshia Griffin, Keunte Lewis, Ayannah Pitts, Aarion Pitts, TiKira Wallace, Sania Lewis, Tynisha Welch, Chaquavia Newman, Jashia Huey, Zakiyah Brooks and JaCion Lamb; 6 great grandchildren, M’Liyah Boatner, Ayden Pitts, Imani Gold, Raquel Brooks Jr., Caisleigh Roberts and Ry’leigh Welch,; His brother, Billy (Katie) Lewis of Elgin, IL; nephews and nieces, Scottie, Billy Jr. Lavelle, Xavier, Anthony, Micah, DeAngela, Mya, Sophia, Billy III and Camilo Lewis of Elgin, IL, Brother in law, Bobby (Sherry) Lamb of Kansas City, KS, Kenneth ( Marilyn) Lamb and John Lamb of Monticello, AR, sister in law, Dorothy Lamb of Clarksville, TN, Emma Johnson, Evelyn (Lemuel) Ridgell, Dorothy (Sylvester) Terry and Pearlie Arrington, all of Monticello, AR, Patricia Newton of Warren, AR, two special families to him, Joe Willie Ware and Family of Elgin, IL, Lacrisha and Anthony Plummer of Pine Bluff, AR and a host of friends that will miss him dearly.
