Damon Herring, age 78 of Monticello, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, AR. He was born June 6, 1943, in Monticello, AR to the late James Murphy Herring and Azalea Kimbro Herring. He was retired from Burlington Industries and a Baptist. Damon’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, mowing his yard and watching television. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Joan Carol Miller Herring. He is survived by two sons, Kevin Wayne Herring and wife Karen and Douglas C. Herring and wife Diane all of Monticello; grandchildren, Michael Herring (Shelby), Zachary Herring (Chelsea), Kristen Beedle, Travis Medders, Whittney Bowers, Brittney Moody, Herman Nickolson (Whitney) and Josh Nickolson (Tara); and great grandchildren, Ariel Herring, Orion Herring, Taylor Herring, Eliza Herring, Kadance Beedle, Mayson Bowers, Brooklyn Adair, Harley Adair, Preslee Adair, Caden Horton, Braxton Horton, Summer Harton, Gracelyn Nickolson and Madison Nickolson; two brothers, Barney Herring of Pine Bluff and Bartley Herring of Memphis, TN; one sister, Nancy Kay Sanson of Monticello; along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with burial in Campground Cemetery.
