Thomas Wayne Wooten, age 55 of Monticello, entered the Pearly Gates of Heaven on March 13, 2022, at Baxter County Medical Center in Mountain Home Arkansas. He was the son of the late Thomas Dale Wooten and Margaret Eads Wooten. He was a Signal Maintainer for Union Pacific Railroad for 29 years and a member of Rosehill Freewill Baptist Church who loved serving the Lord and sharing his word with anyone who would listen. Tom was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, great uncle and just someone who you could call a "True Friend". Tom loved watching the Razorbacks whether it be from home or going to one of their games. He loved playing with his grand pup, Rhett Wooten in the afternoons and waking up to his growls and whimpering in the mornings. He said he never knew he could love an animal as much as he did Rhett. He loved the history channel, deer hunting, fishing, socializing, and collecting books and pens that he never intended to read or use. Nor, would he ever let me throw anything away. I would get so upset with myself because I forgot how OCD he was. He also was a jack of all trades and a master of none. Tom was preceeded in death by his beloved son, Dillon Wooten and brother, Jimmy Wooten. Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Shelly Beard Wooten of Monticello; one daughter Kelsey Wooten of Monticello; a brother Jerry Dale Wooten of Louisville, KY; three sisters, Teresa McCullough Hogue and husband Rickie of McGehee, Marilyn Rothwell and husband Lynn of Fordyce, Kimberly East of Monticello; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Rose Hill Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne Roper officiating. There will be a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Andrews Chapel Cemetery in Wilmar, AR.
