Leon Faulkner, age 82 of Monticello, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022, at his home in Monticello. He was born February 26, 1940, in Lake Providence, LA to the late Joseph Walter Faulkner and Cora Harris Faulkner. He was retired from the City of Monticello and a Baptist. Leon loved to hunt and fish but his greatest love was his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Fuller Faulkner of Monticello; two daughters, Jeanette Minchew and Nancy Faulkner both of Lake Village; three sons, David Faulkner, Michael (Red) Faulkner and wife Michelle and Steve Faulkner and wife Lea all of Monticello; a special daughter, Wanda Hadwin of Bossier City, LA; two brothers, James Faulkner and wife Doris of Washington State and Bruce Faulkner and wife Linda of Monticello; one sister, Mary Venable of Monticello; ten grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. Graveside services will be 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Monty Meek officiating. There will be a visitation from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
