Mrs. Betty Gene Martin, age 73 of Wilmar, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, May 28, 2022. She was born April 23, 1949, in Fountain Hill, AR to the late James and Everline Daniel Jacobs. She graduated high school from Drew Schools and worked many years as a seamstress until she retired. She was married to Virgil Martin, Jr. and enjoyed cooking, sewing, and reading. Mrs. Betty was a devoted member of Holy Deliverance Church of God in Christ in Warren, Arkansas and a District Missionary for the Fordyce Central District of the Church of God in Christ, Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Arkansas. In addition to her church involvement, other hobbies she enjoyed included cooking, sewing and reading. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Betty was also preceded in death by her siblings, Perry Lambert, Marvin Lambert, Ronnie Lambert, Ivory Lambert, Earlene Spears, Ida Jacobs, Curtis Jacobs and Louise Jacobs. Leaving to cherish her memories are her four children, Chris Martin and wife Anna of Little Rock, Tori Golden of Johnsville, Tonya Orr and husband Johnny of Wilmar and Brian Martin of Warren; her brothers and sisters, James D. Lambert and wife Lonzetta of Portland, OR, Isaac Lambert and wife Kathleen of Oxen Hill, MD, George Lambert and wife Elaine of Atlanta, GA, Charles Jacobs and wife Vicky of Monticello, and Ruby Frazier and husband Thomas of Atlanta, GA; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Holy Deliverance Church of God in Christ with Elder Terry Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery in Johnsville, AR.
