On September 29, 2010, our beloved Willie Mae Toatley quietly slept as her courageous and humble spirit was carried home to live with Jesus and her loved ones for an eternity of jubilation.
Willie Mae Toatley was born January 6, 1925 to the late Rubie Jane Edwards and Sam Elliot Toatley. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Vera McCray.
She was baptized at an early age in Monticello. Upon her move to St. Louis, she united with the Greg Chapel AME Church. She served as a member of the Usher Board and a member of the Feed the Hungry Committee.
She leaves to cherish her memories; two sons, Orlando (Robin) Toatley and Thedrick Joe Daniels, both of St. Louis, MO; two brothers, Earnest (Angie) Rowlett, of Dallas, TX and Robert Edwards of Monticello, AR.
She also leaves four grandchildren; Thedrick Joe (Luwanda) Franklin, Jr. of Fort Worth, TX, Thedrick Joe (Teresa) Daniels, III and Shannon Toatley of St. Louis, MO, and Keauna Toatley of Jackson, MS; seven great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
