Bertie Herring
May 19, 1935 - February 9, 2023

Bertie Herring, age 87 of Monticello, AR, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 19, 1935, in Guy, AR to the late John Wesley James and Delitha Davis. She enjoyed planting roses, raising a garden, listening to country music, and especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Davey; four brothers, Harold Lee James, Ruel James, Carol James, and Jim James; six sisters, Vida Lee Abbott, Hazel Baker, Erma Rains, Louella Skomp, Maudie Breedlove, and Thelma James; seven step-children, Jasmine Davey, Butch Davey, Marie Davey, Harry Davey, Charles Davey, Rita Roberts, and Vera Ann Sellers; daughter-in-law, Kelly Davey; and grandson, William Spears.
She is survived by her second husband, Bobby Herring; a sister, Minnie McGlaughlin; brother, Carl James; daughters, Rita Noles and husband Rickey of Dumas, AR, Christine Parnell and husband David of Cabot, AR, Viola Herring and husband Barney, Jr. of Monticello, AR, Dana Roberson and husband Jesse of Springdale, AR, and Donna Ferguson and husband Les of Watson Chapel, AR; sons, Samuel Davey and wife Linda of Monticello, AR, Albert Davey, and Daniel Herring and spouse Karen Petty of Warren, AR; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 12, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Stephenson Dearman Chapel. Funeral services will be Monday, February 13, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the Stephenson Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Selma Cemetery, Selma, AR.
