Jarrod Ray Oglesby
January 4, 1988 - May 18, 2023

Jarrod Ray Oglesby was born January 4, 1988, to Tracy Oglesby and Samuel Durden Sr. in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Jarrod accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the First Apostolic Church in El Dorado, Arkansas. Jarrod graduated from Drew Central High School in May of 2006. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served as a Supply Specialist and was stationed in Baumholder, Germany. He served in Iraq from Apr. 9, 2008 to May 27, 2009. He received many accolades while serving such as the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Campaign Star Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon. After serving 3 years in the United States Army, he worked for Cummins Unit- Arkansas Department of Corrections and Southeast Arkansas Human Development Center. He found a passion for truck driving, and enrolled in the Pine Bluff Trucking School in 2012. After graduating from Pine Bluff Trucking School, he worked for many trucking companies, with the latest being L.D. Long, Inc. out of Monticello, Arkansas.  In his spare time, he enjoyed coaching PEEWEE basketball for Drew Central and AAU basketball for SEARK Elite.
Jarrod Ray Oglesby departed this life on Thursday, May 18, 2023. He was proceeded in death by his grandparents; Charles Dailey, Richard Oglesby, Helen and James Durden; his aunt, Angela Durden; his uncle, Thedrick Oglesby.
He leaves to cherish his memories, His children; Jaiden Oglesby of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Nevaeh Oglesby of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Kyree Oglesby of Monticello, Arkansas; his grandparent, Pattie Dailey of Wilmar, Arkansas; his parents, Tracy Oglesby and Samuel Durden (Chenetta) of Wilmar, Arkansas; his brothers, Jaymie Oglesby, James Rhodes Jr, and Camarion Durden of Wilmar, Arkansas, Samuel Durden Jr of Warren, Arkansas; his sisters, Cortney Durden of Houston, Texas, Je’Kea Oglesby (Patrick) of Belton, Texas, Je’Taime Jackson, Sayveiona Durden, and Saniya Durden of Wilmar, Arkansas, Paris Gilbert of Hermitage, Arkansas; his uncles, Keith Lyles, Sr. of San Antonio, Texas, Demetrick Oglesby of Wilmar, Arkansas, Domonique Simmons (Jennifer) of Little Rock, Arkansas, James Earl Durden, Jr. (Janet) of Memphis, Tennessee; his aunts, Leslie Lyles, Ja’Ton Oglesby, Chekiona Jones (Paul) of Wilmar, Arkansas, Kimberly Durden of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Sandra Atkins (Dwight) of Warren, Arkansas; his nephews, Johnathan, Darius, Kane, Ayden, Khalil, Achilles, Logan, Adonis; his nieces, Shaylee, Braylee, Journee, Alaiya, and a host of family members, classmates, and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, May 26, 2023, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Stephenson-Dearman Chapel. A Celebration of Jarrod’s Life will be Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. also in the Chapel.
