Olean Girtman
September 10, 1947 - September 27, 2023

Sister Olean Ridgell Girtman was born September 10, 1947, to the late Labue Ridgell and Ruth Ridgell. Olean departed this life September 27, 2023, at The Woods in Monticello, Arkansas. She joined Mt Zion A.M.E Church at an early age, where she remained until her death. She attended and graduated from Drew High School. Olean retired from BP Speedy Mart, where everyone knew her for her cooking. Olean never met a stranger and was loved by many.
Olean was married to Nathan Girtman Sr. and to this union three children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents Labue and Ruth Ridgell, a sister Ann Keith, and a brother Johnny Ridgell.
She leaves to cherish her memories with her three children Chuck Girtman, Latresha Girtman (Shawn Hicks), and Nathan Girtman I (Cheryl Conelly). Three sisters Emma (Carl) Green, Margaret (LC) Barnes, and Bessie (JP) Dunlap. Two brothers Alvin (Linda) Ridgell and JD Ridgell (Abigail). Five grandchildren Nadriona (Tevin) Russell, Michael Girtman, Na'Shantia Girtman, Nortavian Girtman, and Nevaeh Girtman. One great granddaughter Nilah Russell and a grandson - Due January 8, 2024 Tevin Russell Jr. and a host of nieces and nephews and other relations and friends that she loved and they loved her.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Stephenson-Dearman Chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with Rev. Chris Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
