Brother Arthur Lee “Hook” Johnson was born on October 8, 1950, to the late Wade Johnson, Jr. and Vera Lee Johnson of Selma, Arkansas.
Arthur confessed a belief in Christ at an early age and became a member of Selma First Baptist Church. He later moved to Little Rock, AR where he remained until his demise.
Arthur attended school in the Selma community, later attended Drew Central High, and eventually joined the Army National Guard and was discharged with an honorable discharge.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Wade Johnson, Jr. and Vera Lee Johnson; and one sister, Ruthie Mae Johnson-Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memory, four siblings, Theodis “Tbo” Johnson of Selma, AR, Tyron Johnson of Monticello, AR, Betty Bunche of North Little Rock, AR, Vera Owens (Ricky) of Monticello, AR; half-sister, Rebecca Ann Johnson of Richmond, CA; four uncles, Robert Earl Kinerman of Oakland, CA, Preston Johnson (Mable) of Columbus, OH, Oscar Johnson and Joe Lee Johnson (Pearlene) of San Diego, CA; four aunts, Johnnie V Johnson of Omaha, NE, Alean Miles of Paulding, OH, Millive Kinerman of Pittsburgs, CA and Dorthy Jean Kinderman of Alameda, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
While we celebrate his homegoing, his easy-going spirit and kindness will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 3:00 -5:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, May 3, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Selma Cemetery in Selma, Arkansas.
