Welcome

John "Ed" Edwin Hendrick, Jr.
March 22, 1951 - May 11, 2024

John Edwin Hendrick, Jr., age 73, of Monticello, Arkansas passed away, on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Dermott Nursing Home in Dermott, Arkansas. He was born March 22, 1951, in Hardinsburg, Kentucky to the late John Edwin Hendrick, Sr. and Virginia Dandy Hendrick. Ed was a United States Marine and served in Vietnam. He graduated with an associate degree from Vo-Tech School and became a certified teacher of welding. He moved on to work in the auto industry as a welding inspector. He was a member of the Crossett First Baptist Church men's Sunday Class. Ed enjoyed training his labrador retriever, Kate, and participated in field trials in Kentucky. When Ed moved to Arkansas six years ago he became active in the Felsenthal Hunting Retriever Club. He loved the memories made with the members and the experiences. He was an active member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and he worked with local animal rescues and assisted when needed.
Ed is survived by his daughters, Emily Hendrick and Ashley Brody and husband Michael; grandchildren, Sophia and Benjamen Burch; step-grandchildren, Emily, Rheed, Maci, and Jill Brody; two brothers, Michael Hendrick and Cleveland Hendrick; and a host of family and friends.
The family wants to thank all who helped provide assistance with Ed’s care, and transportation to and from his treatment centers. Arkansas Hospice was a great comfort and a big thanks to Dermott Nursing Home for the great care for Ed. It was a rewarding experience to have such all-around care.
Memorial services will be held, on May 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church in Milo, Arkansas with Rev. Keith Boseman officiating. There will be a visitation from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the memorial service. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516, in his honor.
You can sign Ed’s guestbook here on his page.
