Dewayne “Buddy Ruff” Rash, age 70 of Monticello, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was born February 5, 1954, in Drew County, AR to the late Richard Chesley Rash and Mamie Marie Clampit Rash. He was retired from the USDA and also a retired minister from the New Tabernacle Church where he pastored for many years. Buddy Ruff loved hunting and fishing, spending time with his dogs, going to Seven Devils swamp, listening to the Arkansas Razorbacks on the radio eating parched peanuts, listening to the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday night but his greatest love was his Lord. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. They were his heart and soul. Those that knew Buddy Ruff, knew his favorite sayings were “hot dog”, “man oh man” and his favorite, “don’t worry bout it”. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Rash Post. Survivors include his wife Connie Smith Rash of Monticello; two daughters, Lincey Rash Waite and husband Devon of Bryant and Chelsea Rash Acklen and husband James of Pleasant Hill, MO; two grandchildren, Alyssa Waite and Charleigh Waite; a niece, Annalisa Ahee; a nephew, Brendon Hayes and wife Lisa Mele; a host great nieces and nephews; and two special buddies that he dearly loved, his dogs Cotton and Eva. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Rash Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon Monday preceding the funeral service in the chapel. You can sign Dewayne’s guestbook registry on this page.
