Wendell K. Johnson, age 71 of Monticello, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 6, 1953, in Monticello, AR to the late J.R. Johnson and Dovie Chance Johnson.
He was a retired logger and a Methodist. Wendell enjoyed the outdoors where he loved to hunt, fish and go camping. However, his greatest love was spending time with his wife, grandkids and family. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, David; a grandson, Justin; a brother, Johnny; a sister, Ivanell; a niece, Rachael; along with several longtime friends and loved ones whom he loved dearly.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Peggy Cardin Johnson of Monticello; two daughters, Angie Patterson and husband Fred of McGehee and Wendy Johnson (Bubba Roper) of Monticello; two sons, Jeremy Johnson and wife Amanda and William Johnson and wife Brittaney all of Monticello; one sister, Brenda Pickens and husband Roy of Star City; one brother, Roger Johnson of Star City; twenty five grandkids, sixteen great grandkids; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
