Carol LaVon Hinton, 51, of Haskell, Oklahoma passed away at home Wednesday, July 31, 2024. She was born January 9, 1973, in Bakersfield, California to the late James Clifton Uptigrove and Carlene Beatrice Furr Uptigrove. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Haskell, Oklahoma. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. They were the delight of her life. Mostly, she loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. Carol enjoyed studying the Bible, photography, cooking, finding new recipes, scrapbooking, sewing, and crafting in general. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Charley Eugene Uptigrove and both sets of grandparents, The Uptigroves and The Furrs. Carol is survived by her husband, Steven Hinton of Haskell, OK; daughters, Hannah Hinton of Baton Rouge, LA, Audrey Hinton of Little Rock, AR, and Daisy Hinton of Haskell, OK; son, William Hinton and wife Alexis of Altus, OK; brothers, Carl Uptigrove and wife Paulette of Booneville, AR, Clifton Uptigrove and wife Debra of Brandon, MS; sister, Charlene Mayes and husband Rick of Lancaster, CA; grandchildren, Melanie Sanlin, Jaylen Hinton, and Jordan Hinton; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Carol's family would like to give a special thank you to Elara Caring Hospice along with a huge thank you Steve, Daisy and Ethan for the special care you gave Carol during her time at home.
