Romanda Michelle Spencer Jordan was born July, 29, 1977 to Willie Gene Smith, Jr. and Barbara Kay Spencer in Monticello, AR. She departed this life on March 30, 2016 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
She graduated from Monticello High School in 1995 and went on to graduate in 2005 from the University of Arkansas in Monticello with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education-Special Educations. In 2007, she received a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Education Technology and held a teachers license from the State of Arkansas. She was currently employed by the University of Monticello in Warren where she was an Instructor for CDA and Instructor at University of Monticello. Romanda loved life and helping people. If you have encounter her you would have walked away feeling like you had encounter a piece of heaven on earth. To know Romanda was to love Romanda.
Romanda accepted Christ as her savior at a young age. She joined Mt. Pleasant AME Church in her early years under the leadership of Rev. Jesse Washington and later joined Zion Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Larry Hood, who is currently pastor. She was united in matrimony to Ricky Jordan in 1998 and have two children.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents Robert and Carrin Spencer and Willie and Marth Smith.
She leaves her memories with a son, Javaris J. Jordan and a daughter, Jaliah J. Jordan, both of Monticello; her parents, Willie and Barbara Smith of Monticello; sisters, Kasey (Robert) Smith and Carmen (Josmine) Smith, both of Monticello; three nephews, Jaylen, Jamauirson and JaCabrien Smith all of Monticello; aunts, Lucy (Rev. Nelson) Spencer of Monticello; Gwen (David) Queens of District Heights, Maryland; Sharon (Gary) of Anchorage, AK; Brenda Phillips of Lake Village; Uncles, Doby Spencer of Perth, Australia; Robert (Kathy) Spencer of Tucson, AZ, Reggie (Rita) Spencer of Crossett, Arnett (Felicia) Spencer of Pine Bluff, Don (Carmile) Smith of Monticello, Edgar Spencer of Lacey; special relatives and friends; LaTisha Spencer, Marlando Phillips, Gwen Hawkins, LaToya Martin, Muniki Gragg, Demetrice Thomas, Ladeshia Daniels, Cristal Fortner, Keith and Kevin Allen and Sylvester Williams (deceased); and a host of relatives, friends, colleagues, students and classmates.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Campground Cemetery. Visitation 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
