John Lewis McGehee, Sr., age 76 of Star City, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at his home. He was born May 22, 1940 in Lincoln County, AR to the late John H. McGehee and Eathel Bell Butler McGehee.

He was the owner/operator of McGehee Trucking and Farms and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Robert McGehee; one brother, James Douglas McGehee and one sister, Aileen Smith. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed watching and feeding all kinds of animals and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Ava Jones McGehee of Star City; one son, John L. McGehee, Jr. and wife Louann of Star City; two sisters, Betty Ruth Tanner of Texas and Jerry Miller and husband Bill of Dallas, TX; three grandsons, Phillip Brent McGehee and J. C. Massey both of Star City and Chris McCauley of Conway; one granddaughter, Madyson Massey of Star City, several nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2016 at Holly Springs Cemetery in Lincoln County. Arrangements by Stephenson-Dearman. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
