Jerry Don Foster, 65 of Monticello passed away, Monday, October 31, 2016 at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born March 27, 1951 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Crawford and Evora Miller Foster. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Lee Foster and Edward Lee Foster; and one sister, Deborah Ann Foster.
Jerry was very active in his community as well family and many friends. Affectionately known as “Fly”, Jerry “Got It Right”. He accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and it was evident in his daily life and joyous fellowship when he was at church praising God.
Jerry met the love of his life, Dorothy Clifton and they were united in Holy Matrimony in August of 1984, a love that lasted until his death. Jerry loved his children, Jerrilyn, Latrice, Tyrone, and Dedrick. He was known as PaPa by his grandchildren and had a close bond with his brothers and sisters. He had many friends and was very fond of his classmates of Drew High School, especially his graduating class of 1969.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 32 years, Dorothy Clifton Foster; two sons, Tyronne (Yolanda) Stanley of Dallas, TX and Dedrick (Tiffany) Shephard of Little Rock; two daughters, Jerrilyn Foster of Arkadelphia and Latrice Foster of Mobile; five sisters, Mary Foster of St. Louis, MO, Christian and Classis (Clarence) Green both of Pine Bluff, Rosetta Foster of Monticello and Barbara (Clifton) Richardson of McGehee; four brothers, Elder Melvin (Mary) Foster, Troy (Rose) Foster, Charles (Willie) Foster, and Larry Foster all of Monticello; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; father in –law and mother-in-law, Brenda (Donald) Freeman and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
