Mary Bernice Carter, age 83 of Sheridan, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 at Arkansas Hospice-St. Vincent’s in Little Rock. She was born August 23, 1934 in Crossett, AR to the late Joseph James Hall and Bessie Mae Wallace Hall.

She was the widow of Olen Carter, retired from Burlington Industries and Ray’s and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Randall Carter. Mary enjoyed crocheting, coloring books and dearly loved her dog, Betty.

Survivors include six daughters, Brenda Watson and husband David of Sheridan, Audrey McKenzie of North Little Rock, Cathy Owens and husband Dean, Mary Frances Pezullo and husband Tony, Charlotte Fisher and husband Pat all of Monticello and Linda Shafer and husband Keith of Jonesboro; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Carter Cemetery in Crossett. Visitation 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
